22.11.2009 – 25.11.2009Trilaterale Forschungskonferenz
Die Vorstellung als „Dunkelkammer“ narrativer Prozesse. Modelle und Darstellungsformen von Innerlichkeit in Europa (18.-20. Jahrhundert)
Koordination: Prof. Dr. Stefano Poggi, Firenze; Prof. Dr. Olaf Breidbach, Jena; Prof. Dr. Nathalie Ferrand, Oxford

Scholars attending the conference research will examine the various ways in which the analysis of interiority is set up and conduct by scientific research, philosophical reflection, artistic creation in the period from the last two decades of the nineteenth century until the first two to three decades of the twentieth century.

In particular, they will analyze from different points of view and disciplines how the problem of interiority is treated, in the above mentioned age, by physiological and psychological investigations on memory, by philosophical reflection and psychological experiments on time and on language, and then by the narrative, the poetry, the music creation and the debate on the characters of the latter.

Guiding idea common to all these lines of research and artistic expressions is that there is a process where we note the results, but whose course takes place in an "interiority" of which it is essential to the survey, although difficult and given to indirect means of investigation. It is in this "interiority" that the images on which are based our entire dynamic of knowledge and action are developed and "manufactured".
